Women in Business offers professional women a unique opportunity to grow within an atmosphere created specifically for them. Our mission is to empower and develop women through education, networking, mentoring and partnerships and to promote opportunities for all women throughout Frederick County. Join us outdoors from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM on July 8, 2021 at Canapés for networking, coffee and light breakfast pasteries. This event is open to both Members and non-members of the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce, however Chamber Members will be prioritized. Anyone is welcome to attend regardless of gender identity.

Enjoy a panel discussion about community involvement, team building, and volunteering while networking with Frederick’s Women’s Business Network. This JCT program will provide your teen with the knowledge to one day become a counselor. They will work directly with the camp staff, assist with preparing activities, and will learn about supervision during these activities. The program will provide both hands-on and individual /group training experiences. The ages for signing up will range from 13 to 15. There is limited enrollment at both locations. Before registering, you will need to schedule an interview with Sean Poulin at spoulin@cityoffrederickmd.gov.
Join us for a fun filled 2 weeks of classes, exercises, and activities in preparation for a final production of Peter Pan JR. Each day will introduce a different component of musical theatre. Students ages 11 to 18 will help create costumes, sets and props for the show. The two final performances will be held on Saturday 7/17 at 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Register at the WM Talley Rec Center.
Join us for some summer fun at the City of Frederick Playground Programs! We offer many programs including arts and crafts, sports, music, swimming*, environmental education, and many more! The summer program will operate under the latest COVID-19 regulations, and each location will be limited to 25 participants.
The Talley Day camp program will be available to children from ages 5 to 12 (must be five by the session start date). Each session will have a different theme in which most sports, arts and crafts, games, and special events will be centered around. Activities available each session will include games, sports, swimming (1 time per week), special events, off-site trips (once per session), and many more!
Cover the history world of the sword with this fencing class! Students will get a basic understanding of foil and rules. They will also have the opportunity to fence using the same style of equipment used in modern Olympic games. Ages 9 and up.
Students will focus on tactical strategies of epee, and understanding tempo and timing in this class. Students will learn epee blade work, footwork, proper movement, and open bouting on electronic scoring equipment.
