On today's date the Frederick Police Department arrested a subject for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia
On Thursday August 2, 2012 at approximately 0031 hours OFC Kevin Meyer was on routine patrol in the area of South Jefferson Street and Prospect Boulevard. At this time OFC Meyer noticed a vehicle which contained multiple equipment violations. OFC Meyer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. Upon contact with the driver, later identified as Duncan, Mark Desmond (B/M/3-3-1987), OFC Meyer noticed that the driver was visibly nervous. The driver also lied about where he was coming from, as OFC Meyer witnessed the vehicle in transit. OFC Meyer called for a FPD K-9 to conduct a sniff on the vehicle. The K-9 sniff resulted in a positive alert for the presence of controlled dangerous substances. A search incident to arrest of the vehicle yielded a quantity of suspect marijuana, along with a digital scale. Duncan was placed under arrest and transported to the FCADC, where he was released after a hearing with a District Court Commissioner. The arrestee’s information and charges are as follows:
