The Frederick Police Department’s 19th Citizens Police Academy was a (9) week free of charge program, meeting every Wednesday evening from 6PM-8PM starting on September 21st and ending on November 16th, designed to educate and inform citizens on the many facets of the law enforcement field which includes laws of arrest, search and seizure, DUI/DWI enforcement, use of force, and much more. Upon completion of the program, citizen police academy attendees will not be sworn police officers, nor be expected to perform any law enforcement functions.
