City of Frederick Hosts Freecycle Roundup to Promote Sustainability and Reduce Waste

The City of Frederick Department of Public Works is excited to host its upcoming Freecycle Roundup event, scheduled for Saturday, October 21st, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This community initiative invites City residents to participate in an environmentally responsible effort to declutter their homes while contributing to a sustainable future.

The Freecycle Roundup will take place at the Public Works complex located at 111 Airport Drive East, Frederick, MD 21701. This event aims to offer a convenient, cost-free method for City residents to dispose of bulk items they no longer wish to keep, with the added benefit of reducing the burden on the Frederick County landfill.

City residents are encouraged to participate in this event by dropping off the following items:

  • Furniture
  • Appliances
  • Bicycles
  • Large Toys/Swingsets
  • Mattress/Box Springs (limit of 3 per household)
  • Mowers, weed eaters, trimmers (fluids removed)
  • Grills (no tanks)

All items must be less than 7 feet in length

In addition to these drop-off opportunities, local charitable organizations will be present to accept items such as:

  • Clothes, purses, belts, shoes
  • Books, CDs, DVDs, VHS, and more
  • Furniture
  • Electronics and Computer equipment; TVs
  • Plastics

To ensure a smooth and efficient experience for all attendees, this event is open exclusively to City of Frederick residents. Proof of residency will be required upon entry.
