The Frederick Police Department is set to provide road closure assistance during the upcoming Mountain City Elks Lodge 100th Anniversary Parade, scheduled for Sunday, August 27th, from 12:00-5 p.m.
This year's parade route has been expanded to mark the celebration of the 100th anniversary. Participants are set to assemble between the 700 and 900 blocks of North Market Street, which will be temporarily closed to traffic from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. At 3:00 p.m., the procession will begin its march starting from 700 North Market Street, proceeding in a southbound direction along Market Street, before taking a right turn onto W All Saints Street, leading to Bentz Street. This route is expected to remain closed until approximately 5:00 pm.
Local residents and commuters should expect significant traffic delays and are advised to plan alternate travel routes around the downtown area from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. To ensure smooth traffic management, Frederick City officers will be present to provide assistance to drivers during this time period.
