On July 19, 2023, The Frederick Police Department was contacted by Child Protective Services about a possible child abuse case. The victim in the incident was a 6 week old infant who was at Frederick Health Hospital, but was later transferred to Children’s National Hospital in Washington D.C. for treatment.
Detectives assigned to the Major Crimes Unit responded to Children's National Hospital in Washington D.C., and initiated an investigation.
