Contractors will be onsite at Monocacy Village Park for several weeks to perform initial topographical surveys, forest stand delineation, and other assessments in preparation for a stream restoration project.
This project is an extension of the Motter Avenue Flood Mitigation Project. The stream restoration will begin at the outfall of the culverts adjacent to North East Street and will continue downstream in the park about 500 feet.
The initial assessments will take approximately six weeks to complete and will inform the design of Abraham Faw Run, the stream running through the park. The design will include stabilization to reduce streambank erosion and habitat improvements in the stream and on the banks. The stream restoration design will be complete by end of summer 2024.
