At approximately 6:37 a.m. on March 31, 2023, officers from the Frederick Police Department responded to the 600 Block of Wyngate Drive for a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, first-responding officers located a single victim, a man in his sixties, and immediately began rendering first aid. Concurrently, additional officers located and identified the suspect, Kyler Philip Beard, inside the residence. Beard was taken into custody at the scene.
Through information and evidence obtained, investigators confirmed the suspect is known to the victim. This was a domestic-related incident in which Beard had also intended to harm other occupants inside the residence. The victim was flown to an area trauma center with life-threatening injuries.
Beard was transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center where he will appear in front of a District Court Commissioner.
