Mayor Michael O’Connor has appointed a Downtown Parking and Mobility Ad-Hoc Advisory Committee pursuant to Frederick City Charter Article III, Section 6 (i). The purpose of the Ad-Hoc Advisory Committee is to consider the changing downtown demand, community needs, parking and mobility options, and provide recommendations for action. Key issues which this committee will consider include resident parking, parking mobility/technology, and parking rates, along with major capital projects such as the redevelopment of the aging Church Street Parking Garage and new facilities to meet demand needs. Additionally, the ad-hoc committee will consider the need for creation of a permanent Parking and Mobility Advisory Committee in the future.
The 24-Member Ad-Hoc Committee shall be composed of the following members and are selected to broadly represent the downtown with consideration to balancing geographic distribution, equity, residents, workers (business), and visitors. The Mayor will appoint a Committee Chair and Vice-Chair to oversee meetings.
