FPD investigating pedestrian struck by vehicle

Public Safety Alert

On Friday, Jan. 13, 2023, at 5:46 a.m., the Frederick Police Department responded to the on-ramp from Md. 40 Eastbound and U.S. 15 Southbound for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. 

Upon arriving, Emergency Medical Services providers were providing care to an adult male who was conscious but suffering significant injuries. The adult male was transported to an area trauma center where he was in serious but stable condition. 

The occupants of the striking vehicle remained on scene and were fully cooperative with police. There will be no charges against the driver of the vehicle. This remains an open investigation and more information will be shared as it becomes available.
