At approximately 1 a.m. Tuesday July 5, 2022, the Frederick Police Department responded to the 1000 Block of Heather Ridge for reports of gunshots in the area.
Upon arriving on scene, officers determined a shooting had occurred and located an adult male with a gunshot wound. That victim was flown to an area trauma center. A second male victim later arrived at an area hospital by himself and was later transported to an area trauma center. There is no immediate threat to the public and FPD does not believe this to be a random act of violence.
This is an active and ongoing investigation. More details will be released as they become available.
