On Feb. 24, 2022 at approximately 5:30 a.m., the Frederick Police Department received a call for a stabbing that had occurred in a residence on Victoria Square in Frederick City. When patrol officers arrived, they located a male victim that had been stabbed multiple times. Officers provided First Aid to the victim until Frederick County Fire Rescue personnel arrived. The victim was transported by a Maryland State Police helicopter to a hospital in Baltimore for treatment of his wounds.
Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit also responded and assumed the investigation. As a result of the investigation, detectives identified the suspect as Olivia Nevaeh Barton (02-14-2001) of Hagerstown, Maryland. The Hagerstown Police Department was contacted, and located the suspect at her residence and detained her. Frederick Police Department detectives went to Hagerstown where they interviewed the suspect and subsequently placed her under arrest. She was transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center for processing and is currently being held.
Detectives charged the suspect with the following:
· 1st and 2nd Degree Assault
· Home Invasion
· 3rd Degree Burglary
· Malicious Destruction of Property
The victim is currently in stable condition.
