On Jan. 11, 2022 at approximately 8:20 a.m. officers with the Frederick Police Department responded to 22 S. Market Street, commonly known as the Federated Charities Building, for a report of a destruction of property.
Upon arrival, officers quickly discovered a newly repaired well-known dog statue from the 1850s had been broken and removed from its platform.
Through the course of the investigation, officers determined a man identified as Keith Allen Worthington had damaged the statue and removed it from the platform early that morning.
The Frederick Police Department filed charges for Mr. Worthington that day and a criminal summons was issued for malicious destruction of property.
