The Frederick Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit last week charged the person responsible for a recent robbery in the City of Frederick.
On Dec. 2, 2021, officers of FPD responded to the M&T Bank on W. Seventh Street for a reported bank robbery.
During the investigation, it was determined the suspect entered the bank, displayed a handgun, and demanded money. The suspect then left the bank with an undisclosed amount of currency. A similar robbery occurred a short time later in Potomac, Md., and was being investigated by the Montgomery County Police Department.
Through evidence and information gathered in conjunction with the Montgomery County Police Department, Rickley Senning was positively identified as the suspect in this investigation. Senning was located and arrested in Washington, DC within a day of the robberies on charges related to the Montgomery County Police Department’s investigation as part of a multi-state armed robbery spree.
On December 10, 2021, charges were requested by the Frederick Police Department and approved through the District Court Commissioner, charging Senning with the following:
- Armed Robbery
- Robbery
- Illegal possession of a firearm
- Assault – 1st degree
- Assault – 2nd degree
- Theft ($100 to under $1,500)
An arrest warrant was issued and will be served on Senning once extradited to Maryland.
