On June 23, 2021, members of the Frederick Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit were contacted by the Maryland State Police and informed that they believed a homicide suspect from St. Mary’s County, Maryland was hiding out in Frederick. The suspect, Leonard Charles Hall (05-30-1994), had a warrant for his arrest for First Degree Murder from a shooting that took place on June 14 in Great Mills, Maryland.
Street Crimes Unit detectives conducted surveillance for two days on possible locations of the suspect and known associates of the suspect in Frederick. On Thursday June 24, street crimes detectives observed Hall in the 1000 Block of Heather Ridge Drive and were able to place him under arrest. Detectives from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to Frederick to transport Hall back to their jurisdiction and serve him with the warrant.
During his arrest, Hall was found to be in possession of a quantity of powdered Ecstasy/MDMA. A Street Crimes Unit detective will be applying for charges with the District Court Commissioner charging him with the drug possession.
