Man arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of marijuana give police false name.
On 06/24/12 shortly after midnight, OFC. Frank Rucci of the Frederick Police Department stopped a vehicle for driving in an erratic manner and arrested the driver for DUI. The driver who initially identified him self as Kyle Patrick McCarthy was also found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. McCarthy was processed at Police Headquarters for the DUI portion of the arrest and then transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center Central Booking Unit. While the Central Booking staff was processing McCarthy in for booking, he told them he lied to OFC. Rucci about his name and then identified himself as Colin Michael McCarthy. Computers checks of McCarthy under his real name revealed he has a suspended license and also an open warrant for his arrest in Montgomery County for several traffic charges. OFC. Rucci charged McCarthy under his real name for Possession of Marijuana, Possession of CDS Paraphernalia, Making a false statement upon arrest concerning his identity and also traffic charges for DUI, DWI, Suspended Driving and several other offenses. McCarthy had his initial appearances before the District Court Commissioner and received a $10,500 bond.
