On Feb. 9, 2021 at approximately 10:14 a.m. officers with Frederick Police Department were dispatched to the Unit Block of Pendleton Court for a report of a firearm discharge. Upon arrival, officers located evidence consistent with a firearm discharge. Witnesses advised they believed one male had been struck in the lower body by the gunfire. A short time later a victim arrived at Frederick Health Hospital with a gunshot wound. He was treated at FHH and transported to another trauma center in the area. At this time his status in unknown.
The suspect was described as a Black male wearing a black sweatshirt. He left the scene on foot but may have gotten in a vehicle.
At least one vehicle that was parked in the area was struck and damaged by gunfire. The owner of that vehicle was not involved with the origins of this conflict. This shooting does not appear to be random and we do not believe there is a general threat to the public at this time.
