At approximately 1736 hours on Dec. 9, officers from Frederick Police Department arrived on scene of a shooting that occurred in the area of the 1300 block of Taney Ave where they found an adult male had been shot in the upper thigh. The victim was approached by three males after he came to a stop while operating his vehicle. One of the males opened fire with the victim still seated in the vehicle.
The victim is a 24-year-old male from Frederick, Md. He is not being identified at this time to aid in his protection and privacy. He is currently in stable condition at a trauma center in the region and expected to survive his injuries. No suspects have been identified. The males that approached the victim are described as two white males and one Hispanic male. They were last seen wearing dark clothing and running on foot toward Applegate Apartments from Potomac Commons. Frederick Police Department believes they knew the victim and there is no threat to the general public that we are aware of.
