Planning Commission to Consider Draft 2020 Comprehensive Plan

The Planning Commission is scheduled to consider the Draft 2020 Comprehensive Plan on November 9th, 2020, to make a recommendation to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen. To view the meeting, visit cityoffrederickmd.gov/publicmeetings for options. The draft plan and information on previous meetings is available on the Comprehensive Plan webpage.

The Comprehensive Plan defines the goals and strategies that will guide the City’s growth and development for the next ten to twenty years and establishes implementation measures and benchmarks to ensure that the community’s vision is put into action and the goals are being met. The Planning Department launched its efforts to draft the 2020 Comprehensive Plan in July 2019. The community was invited to participate in two questionnaires and special workshops. Staff met with many stakeholders and community groups to gather valuable input throughout the process.
