Summary of Public Meeting Decisions - 08/20/2020

At the August 20, 2020 Mayor and Board of Aldermen Public Meeting, the Board approved the following items:

  • A two-year purchase of Microsoft Office 365 from Software House International for $103,389.25. The City first began using Office 365 in fiscal year 2020 and it has been quite successful, greatly enhancing opportunities for collaboration as the City has adjusted operations due to the COVID-19 crisis. This purchase allows the City to continue to function efficiently, with enhanced collaboration tools and increased workforce mobility.
  • An agreement with Proffitt and Associates Architects, PC for Architectural and Engineering Services for a Salt Storage Building. The City’s current salt storage domes are undersized and difficult to access. The new building will enable DPW to respond more quickly to apply de-icing materials to City streets.
  • An agreement with Launch! Consulting, Inc. for professional engineering services to assist in the preparation of a Risk and Resilience Assessment (RRA) and Emergency Response Plan (ERP). The RRA and ERP are both required under the EPA’s America’s Water Infrastructure Act.
