Community Development Consolidated Plan to be Reviewed by Mayor & Board of Aldermen

The Mayor and Board of Aldermen, in accordance with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations and the Citizens Participation Plan, will accept comment on the draft 2020-2024 Community Development Consolidated Plan during the May 7th Public Hearing. To receive federal funds, The City of Frederick is required to submit a five-year Community Development Consolidated Plan to HUD. This plan serves as an application for funds under HUD’s formula grant programs and a planning document for carrying out projects with received community development block grant (CDBG) funds.

The 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan and Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice are the strategic goals and objectives on addressing the needs of the community and the use of CDBG funds as pursuant to HUD regulations outlined in 24 CFR Part 91. The plan is intended to further the goals of HUD’s community planning and development programs: to develop viable communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment and expanding economic opportunities principally for low and moderate-income persons.

For information on submitting and providing public comment during a virtual public meeting, visit cityoffrederickmd.gov/publicmeetings. The draft plan is available at cityoffrederickmd.gov/CDBG. Questions regarding the plan and HUD regulations may be directed to Eileen Barnhard at 301-600-2842  or barnhard@cityoffrederickmd.gov.
