Subject arrested at Motel 6 after threatening victim with a handgun.
On 05-16-12 at approximately 2313 hrs. Officers of the Frederick Police Department Patrol Division responded to a weapons complaint at the Motel 6, 999 W. Patrick St. in Frederick, MD. Responding officers contacted the female victim at the Get Go Station accross the street from Motel 6. She related she had transported a male subject to the motel to contact someone in one of the rooms. When the friend didn't return she attempted to locate him on the second floor of the motel. While doing so she was confronted outside of the room by a B/M suspect who threatened her with a handgun. She went to the front desk to call the police and later to the gas station accross the street where officers finally contacted her. She gave a physical description of the suspect with the gun and officers responded to the room in question. Off. Stepanie Sparks and OFC. Kacie Keesecker contacted the occupants of the suspect room and located a B/M subject fitting the description given by the victim. The suspect was identified as Tony Anthony Jones, B/M/07-07-88 of the 1100 blk. of Orchard Terr. in Frederick. Further invrstigation by the officers uncovered a 9mm semi-automatic handgun hidden inside a backpack belonging to Jones. The weapon's serial number had been obliterated and at this time is believed to be stolen. Jones was taken into custody without incident by Off. Sparks and transported to Central Booking for charges and processing. He was charged with 1st Degree Assault, Carrying a concealed weapon and possessing a handgun with an obliterated serial number. Jones is currently awaiting an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner. No one was injured during this incident.
