As a reminder, The City of Frederick Department of Planning – Community Development Division will begin accepting project proposals for its 2012 CDBG Annual Action Plan (AAP) on Thursday, December 1, 2011.

2012 Annual Action Plan – Request for Proposals

Frederick, MD – As a reminder, The City of Frederick Department of Planning – Community Development Division will begin accepting project proposals for its 2012 CDBG Annual Action Plan (AAP) on Thursday, December 1, 2011. The Annual Action Plan, as required by U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations, describes the projects and activities to be undertaken with Community Development Block Grant funds to implement a number of housing, public service and community development activities during the coming grant year which runs July 1, 2012 - June 30, 2013.

Applications are due by 12:00pm Wednesday, January 4, 2012.

For 2012, the City’s Community Development Block Grant award is estimated to be $300,000 (in addition to an estimated $20,000 in program income).

All proposed projects must be meet the eligible activity criteria and address one of the CDBG program National Objectives of benefiting low and moderate-income persons, eliminating blight or slums, or meeting urgent community needs. Projects must also address a community need and meet objectives outlined in the 2010-2015 Consolidated Plan.

A “Basically CDBG” training session for new applicants will be held on Wednesday November 16, 2011 at 9:30 am at the Municipal Office Annex.

Non-profit organizations wishing to propose a project for the 2012 CDBG grant year should contact Eileen Barnhard , Housing Programs Financial Specialist 301-600-2842 or ebarnhard@cityoffrederick.com to schedule a required pre-proposal meeting.

Funding applications, the AAP submission schedule, and additional CDBG information are available on the City of Frederick’s website at www.cityoffrederick.com .
