Frederick, MD.-09/16/2018 at approximately 2:07 a.m.,
officers of the Frederick Police Department responded to the intersection of
West Patrick Street and Willowdale Drive for a personal injury accident
involving a single motor vehicle and a struck pedestrian. Upon arrival, officers
were able to talk to the pedestrian who was alert and conscious. After treatment
by EMS personnel, the pedestrian was transported to a local Trauma Center for
treatment of his injuries. No other persons were injured in this accident.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Jessica Jane
Reis, of Frederick Maryland. Through
investigation, Reis was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. Reis was placed under arrest and transported
to the Frederick Police Department where she was charged for DUI, DUI per se,
and DWI.
The pedestrian was determined to be at fault for the
accident and was issued two citations for failing to cross properly at an
intersection. A previous press release
stated the driver was at fault for the accident. Although the driver, Reis, was intoxicated, this
was an error and it should reflect the pedestrian was found at fault for
causing the accident.
