The City of Frederick Planning Department, in collaboration with the Planning Commission, has issued a revised schedule for the Comprehensive Rezoning process.

City Alters Schedule of Comprehensive Rezonings
Frederick, MD –The City of Frederick Planning Department, in collaboration with the Planning Commission, has issued a revised schedule for the Comprehensive Rezoning process.
After holding public hearings where individual properties were discussed, interest was expressed in studying other properties in the City for possible inclusion in the Comprehensive Rezoning. Workshop meetings focusing on particular areas will be held to allow the Commission the opportunity to examine these areas of the City and obtain additional information from staff as necessary. Following the workshops, Public Hearings will be held to gather further citizen comment. All previous testimony presented at the April 9 and April 23, 2012 Planning Commission meetings is part of the official record.
The schedule of meetings is as follows:
May 21, 2012 - Workshop Meeting to discuss areas located in NACs 1,2,3,5 and 8 and individual rezoning requests previously heard*.
June 11, 2012 - Public Hearing for property owners and interested parties to comment on properties discussed at the May 21st workshop
June 18, 2012 - Workshop Meeting to discuss areas located in NACs 4,6,7,9,10,11 and 12 and individual rezoning requests previously heard*.
July 9, 2012 - Public Hearing for property owners and interested parties to comment on properties discussed at the June 18th workshop
* a list of the previous rezoning requests and in what NAC they are located is attached
After all public comment has been received, staff will prepare a revised Zoning Map based upon consensus the Planning Commission. The Commission will then vote to forward the revised map to the Mayor and Board of Alderman at a subsequent meeting, the date of which to be announced as the process moves forward. Following their receipt of the recommended map, the Mayor and Board of Alderman will schedule workshops and public hearings as necessary.
The Planning Commission Workshop Meetings on May 21, 2012 and June 18, 2012 will be held in Conference Room C, Municipal Annex Building, 140 W. Patrick Street at 2:00 p.m. The Public Hearings with the Planning Commission scheduled for June 11, 2012 and July 9, 2012 both begin at 6:00 p.m. in the City Hall Board Room, 101 N. Court Street.
