Frederick Police Investigate Firearm Discharge
FREDERICK, MD – At 2243 hours on June 9, 2018, the Frederick Police Department received several calls about gunshots that were fired in the area of Hope Circle and Pennsylvania Avenue. Officers who arrived at that location found several vehicles and a residence that had been struck. Officers did not locate any persons struck. Officers conducted interviews with several people in the area, and a member of the Crime Scene Unit collected evidence. During the investigation, officers received information indicating that a white sedan with a sunroof may have been involved. This vehicle left the area before officers arrived.
Officers of the Frederick Police Department have been conducting frequent patrol checks in this area in response to complaints about drug activity and other nuisances. Officers will continue frequent patrols, and the Department is working with the Housing Authority of the City of Frederick on additional methods to deter illegal activity.
