[ARCHIVED] UPDATE: Frederick Police Department Investigating Pedestrian Stuck by A Motor Vehicle, CR#2017-29516

FREDERICK, MD - The pedestrian involved in last nights incident passed away from his injuries.  We are in the process of notifying next of kin before any further information will be released.

ORIGINAL RELEASE

Frederick, MD.-On 04/20/2017 at approximately 8:57pm, officers of the Frederick Police Department responded to the area of South East Street and Commerce Street for a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, officers and EMS personnel began treating a seriously injured male victim. Based on the victim's injuries, he was transported to an area hospital for further treatment. As a result of the collision, this area of South East Street was closed down for approximately two hours for the investigation. As of this writing, the road has been opened back up for normal vehicular and pedestrian traffic.


Since this is an open ongoing investigation, the names of all parties involved are not being released at this time.
