On 12-20-2016, officers of the Frederick Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit conducted a traffic stop in the area of Baughman’s Lane and Key Parkway, in Frederick City, after observing a male driving erratically on a dirt bike.
When contact was made, the driver of the dirt bike pushed the bike toward the officer and attempted to flee on foot. The driver was immediately apprehended and taken into custody, being identified as, Christopher Michael Stauffer. During a search of Stauffer and the bag he was carrying, officers located approximately 12.7 ounces of marijuana, 1.1 ounces of crack cocaine, 9 grams of heroin and 6 bags of a synthetic cannabinoid.
In addition to the above contraband, officers located a glass smoking device, a metal spoon with suspected heroin or cocaine residue, two digital scales, two boxes of empty sandwich baggies, and over $6500 in currency.
Due to the contraband located, to include the currency, digital scales, sandwich baggies and the amount of heroin, crack cocaine and marijuana seized, Stauffer was subsequently charged with the possession of each controlled dangerous substance (CDS) with the intent to distribute.
