The Frederick Police Department’s Street Crimes Team has made an arrest for possession of crack cocaine subsequent to a traffic stop
On 04-28-2016, officers of the Frederick Police Department’s Street Crimes Team initiated a traffic stop after observing the driver of a vehicle commit a traffic violation in the area of Key Parkway and Bel Aire Lane, in Frederick City.
Contact was made with the driver of the vehicle, who was identified as, Christopher James Bannon. During the traffic stop, officers learned Bannon was operating the vehicle with a suspended MD driver’s license. As a result, Bannon was placed under arrest and transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center. Once at the FCADC, Bannon attempted to discard a small item prior to entering into the body scanner. An officer observed his actions and retrieved the discarded item, identifying it as crack cocaine.
Bannon was charged with driving on a suspended license and drug related offenses. While at the FCADC he appeared before the District Court Commissioner.
