On 02/05/2016 at approximately 0715 hours officers from the Frederick Police Department responded to the Best Western hotel on Prospect Boulevard for an assault that just occurred. The victim and other witnesses who were present at the scene were interviewed. Detective McPeak was later assigned as the primary investigator in this case.
Victim advised she walked out of her residence and was approached by her ex-fiancé, with whom she has an active protective order against. Victim advised the suspect, identified as Solomon Jackson, DOB 11/27/1967 grabbed her and placed her in a control hold. Suspect then took victim’s car keys and forced her into her own vehicle. He then drove her to the Best Western hotel, near her residence where the suspect rented a room on the prior evening. Once at the hotel, the suspect attempted to change vehicles and upon doing so the victim was able to get away and run into the hotel lobby. The suspect chased the victim and tackled her in the lobby area where he again assaulted her. The suspect eventually fled the area in his vehicle as witnesses who assisted the victim called 911.
Information and evidence obtained by detectives linked the suspect to the incident. On 02/05/2016 Detective McPeak applied for charges against Solomon Jackson and an arrest warrant was issued charging Jackson with the below listed offenses. Jackson was later located at a residence in Upper Marlboro, MD on 02/05/2016 and taken into custody without incident. Jackson was then transported to the Prince Georges County Correctional Center for an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner.
Detectives are actively investigating all additional aspects as it relates to this incident.
