The Criminal Investigation Division charged a suspect with burglary after breaking into a home on 02-18-2012 at 69 South Market Street.
Members of the Criminal Investigation Division conducted an investigation of a stabbing incident that occurred on February 18, 2012 at 69 South Market Street, Frederick Maryland. During the course of the investigation it was revealed that the suspect was stabbed during a physical altercation with the homeowner, identified as Daniel Minnick. Mr. Minnick who resides at the residence heard loud banging on his front door and opened the door. Upon opening the door
Joseph Allen forced his way inside the residence and physically assaulted Mr. Minnick. During the altercation Mr. Minnick in an attempt to defend himself grabbed a knife and stabbed Mr. Allen. Mr. Allen was treated at shock trauma in Baltimore for his injuries and released.
After consultation with the Frederick County State’s Attorneys Office it was determined that Mr. Minnick would not be criminally charged in this incident. Joseph Louis Allen was charged with three counts of burglary and one count of assault in the second degree. On 03-02-2012 Mr. Allen was taken into custody by the patrol division and transported to central booking for processing.
