TransIT Improves Service on East County Shuttle
Frederick, MD –TransIT Services of Frederick County has improved scheduled
service on the East County Shuttle with the addition of another scheduled morning
departure time from the Transit Center. This change will take effect on March 6, 2012.
This improvement was based on customer feedback, actual ridership patterns, and
travel times. The scheduled stops at the Transit Center offer customers the ability to
transfer to Connector bus routes, which are located within one-quarter mile of 95% of the
businesses in Frederick City. Transfers are free.
The East County Shuttle provides three morning and three afternoon trips on
Tuesdays and Thursdays between 8:45 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and serves Spring Ridge
Shopping Center, Spring Ridge Senior Apartments, MVA, Country Meadows, the YMCA,
Frederick Senior Center, Thomas Johnson Drive, Frederick Community College, and the
Transit Center. The shuttle serves other Spring Ridge locations and New Market by
advance request.
Connector bus and shuttle routes serve major shopping centers, medical centers,
and employment areas throughout Frederick. On weekdays, Connector route service is
provided every thirty minutes during the morning and afternoon peak hours and every sixty
minutes the rest of the day and on Saturdays.
