On today's date the Frederick City Police Departments Criminal Investigation Divsion made an arrest of a subject wanted for numerous thefts of aluminium wall forms from a number of construction sites in the city.
Detective A.Lapp of the Criminal Investigations Division was assigned a series of thefts that were occurring at a number of construction sites throughout the city of Frederick. The thefts consisted of Aluminum Wall Forms which are used to build foundation walls in the new construction of homes and buildings. These thefts occurred over a period of time between 01/10/2012 to 02/11/2012. The total loss from these thefts was over $50,000.
During the course of Det. Lapp’s investigation he was able to determine that a subject identified as William Bedford Pierce was responsible for the thefts of the wall forms. Mr. Pierce was responsible for the incidents that occurred at Greystone Foundations located at Mill Island Parkway and Waterside Drive between 01-10-1 to 01-12-2012, Great Eastern Concrete located at Artillery Road on 01-17-12 and Compass Concrete (two incidents) on 02/04/12 and 02/11/12 located on Wilcox Drive. Mr. Pierce was interviewed by Det. Lapp on 02-29-2012 and Mr. Pierce admitted to stealing the wall forms from the above locations.
Det. Lapp applied for charges on 03-03-2012 for a number of criminal charges including theft between $10,000 and $100,000. An arrest warrant was issued and Mr. Pierce was captured on 03-05-2012 by members of the Criminal Investigations Division. Mr. Pierce was transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention center for processing without incident. Charges are pending for additional subjects involved in the theft of these items.
Mr.Pierce was charged with the following;
3 counts- Theft $10,000 to under $100,000
1 count- Theft Scheme $1,000 to under $10,000
1 count-Theft $1000 to under $10,000
