Lane Closure/Water Service Interruption
Frederick, MD – July 15, 2015:
200 Block of North Market Street - Lane Closure/Water Service Interruption: The City of Frederick Water Department will be repairing a water main leak in the 200 block of North Market Street on Thursday, July 16th. The left hand lane of North Market Street between 2nd Street and 3rd Street will be closed to traffic from 7:00 AM until 3:00 PM. The right hand lane will be open for traffic.
Interruption to water service in the 200 block of N. Market will be kept to a minimum. Generally any time there is a disturbance in the water line such as with an emergency water repair, sediment is stirred up. Because of that, once the repair has been completed and the water is turned back on, residents and businesses will need to run their cold water faucet for a few minutes until it clears. [It is safe to drink unless a Media Notice states otherwise.] If your water does not clear after running the cold water, please call the Department of Public Works, 24/7 switchboard at 301-600-1440.
Construction equipment and standard traffic control devices should be expected in this area. Motorists are asked to proceed with caution.
