MEDIA RELEASE

MCCLEMENT ELECTED TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Frederick, MD – July 6, 2015: Mayor Randy McClement was elected to the Maryland Municipal League Board of Directors at the Maryland Municipal League Convention held recently in Ocean City, MD.

Mayor McClement will serve as a Member-at-Large on the Board of Directors which is comprised of a president, president elect, 11 district vice presidents, 10 members at large, 7 department representatives and the immediate past president.

Mayor McClement’s role as a board member will focus on the development of policies that govern MML. In addition, the role of an At-Large Board member includes educating the MML chapters regarding the League’s efforts, advocating before the Maryland General Assembly, assisting the District Vice-Presidents in keeping the Board informed of membership concerns and assisting the President and President Elect in visiting all chapters at least once during the year.

“I am honored to have been elected to serve on the MML Board of Directors. This is a wonderful opportunity for me to keep The City of Frederick at the forefront of issues and concerns around the state. Representing my constituents at this level strengthens the ability to advocate for our needs” said Mayor McClement.

The Maryland Municipal League represents Maryland’s 157 municipal governments and two special taxing districts. MML works to strengthen the role and capacity of municipal government through research, legislation, technical assistance, training and the dissemination of information to its members. MML is the only statewide organization in Maryland composed solely of municipal officials and devoted to the promotion of municipal government.
