At approximately 7:00 pm, 02/20/12, officers of the Frederick Police Department responded to a reported stabbing at Providence Ct. Initial investigation revealed that the Hispanic male victim stated that he was walking along a path near Providence Ct when he was approached by three black male subjects who attempted to rob him. A struggle ensued as the victim tried to flee and the victim was stabbed multiple times. After the attack, the victim retreated to the home of a friend on Providence Ct. where he was contacted by police and EMS units. The victim was later flown by Maryland State Police helicopter (Trooper 3) to R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore where he is in stable condition.
During the course of the investigation, units from the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, aided by Maryland State Police helicopter (Trooper 2), conducted a K9 search which resulted in them locating two Hispanic males hiding in a wooded area near E. Thornhill Pl. Police also located potential evidence on or about the two subjects that may have linked them to the crime. Both were detained and later transported to Frederick Police HQ where they were interviewed and released after it was determined that they were not involved.
