The Frederick Police Department’s Street Crimes Team has charged a man who attempted to commit an early morning burglary at a Frederick business
On 03-18-2015, officers of the Frederick Police Department responded to a commercial alarm at the All About Men Barbershop, located at 1700 Kingfisher Drive, in Frederick City.
Through the initial investigation, it was found the suspect broke the front glass door to the business causing the audible alarm to sound. The suspect then walked away from the business, entered a vehicle, and drove away from the scene. This case was assigned to Investigator Paul Malatesta, of the Frederick Police Department’s Street Crimes Team, for follow-up and investigation. Through his investigation, it was found this case was part of a larger burglary series occurring in both Frederick County and Montgomery County. In working with the Montgomery County Police Department and the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, information and evidence was gathered, positively identifying the suspect as, Michael Patrick Mehaffie.
Criminal charges were applied for through the Frederick County District Court Commissioner’s Office, charging Mehaffie with charges related to burglary and destruction of property. An arrest warrant was issued in reference to this incident. On 04-14-2015, Mehaffie was contacted at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center and served with a copy of the warrant.
