Earth Month Family Friendly Activities Planned
Every Day is Earth Day
Frederick, MD – March 30, 2015: Although Earth Day is celebrated on April 22nd, The City of Frederick’s Green Initiatives Team, along with Frederick County sustainable partners, have put together an agenda of Earth Month family friendly activities.
From movies to bike tours to cleaning up the Monocacy River bank to identifying notable trees in Frederick, celebrate your Earth by joining in the activities. And be sure to take the free My Water Pledge to sign up for hundreds of prizes including a Prius v.

Earth Month Family Movie Night
Saturday, April 4th at 7:00 PM
Mission Blue; a family-friendly movie in honor of Earth Month
Whitaker Commons, Hood College Campus
Free and light refreshments will be provided.
The Bell & History Day Bike Ride
8 Easy Miles on Saturday, April 11th.
If you like bike rides and enjoy going places for free, then join in this fun ride. Admission to every museum and historic site is free. For more information and/or to rent a bike, go to Bell & History Bike Ride. Meet at the Tourism Council of Frederick County at 151, South East Street at 9:30 AM. Ride begins at 10:00 AM
Volunteers Needed for Rivermist Park Cleanup Project
Help clean up the banks of the Monocacy River and Rivermist Park.
Meet on Monocacy Boulevard at the Monocacy River.
Saturday, April 11th from 9:00 AM to12:00 noon. Rain or shine!

Notable Trees of Frederick Walking Tour – Saturday, April 25th at 10:00 AM
Jenny Willoughby, City of Frederick Sustainability Manager, will lead a walking tour around the City to point out notable trees, discuss the Future of Frederick’s Urban forest, and how residents can help. The three-mile loop tour begins at 10:00 AM in front of Brewers Alley. No registration/free/open to the public.
