Whitesell Pharmacy and the Frederick Police host Drug Disposal Event April 18, 2015

On April 18, 2015 Whitesell Pharmacy staff and Officers of the Frederick Police Department are hosting a Drug Disposal Event. We will be collecting unused and/or unwanted prescription medications for proper disposal.

How can you prevent medications from falling into the wrong hands? Stop by the Harry Grove Stadium located at 21 Stadium Dr. Frederick MD on April 18th. The event will run from 10 am to 2pm in the upper parking lot of the Stadium.

Flushing or throwing medications in the trash leads to unnecessary pharmaceuticals in the waterways and landfills. The Frederick Police Department will dispose of the medications in a safe, secure and environmentally friendly way.

According to AwareRX.org (an informational website for prescription drug abuse) 6.5 million Americans use prescription drugs. More than 50% of people age 12 and up who abuse prescription drugs will receive them from a family member or friend.

Come out on April 18th and talk to a Whitesell pharmacist, ask questions and learn more about how you can prevent prescription drug abuse.

If you are unable to attend the annual Drug Disposal, a permanent drug drop off box is located at Frederick Police Department 100 W. Patrick St. Frederick, MD

Some items are not acceptable at either site:
Thermometers
IV bags
Blood or Infectious waste
Oxygen tanks
Diabetic Syringes

For more information about the event contact:
Anne Marie at Whitesell Pharmacy (301) 662-4848 or
