CITY SNOW EMERGENCY PLAN IN EFFECT AT 10:00 PM Last Evening (03/04/2015)
Vehicles Must Be Moved from Snow Emergency Routes
Frederick, MD – March 4, 2015: Mayor Randy McClement calls for the Snow Emergency Plan to go into effect for The City of Frederick at 10:00 PM, Wednesday, March 4th. During a Snow Emergency, City residents are not permitted to park on designated Snow Emergency Routes.
Citizens are reminded that all vehicles must be moved from the snow emergency routes listed below when the snow emergency plan goes into effect. Any vehicles parked on these streets may be towed at the owner’s expense. Vehicles not moved off of designated Snow Emergency Routes risk the chance of being towed.
As a reminder, normal parking rates will remain in effect for all five City parking garages.
The Department of Public Works would like to remind residents to be aware of and obey the Restricted Parking designations. The restricted parking areas assure citizens and the DPW Snow Plow Teams that the designated areas will be open and available for use to push and/or haul snow from streets if the need arises. As a reminder, parking in a Restricted Parking area at any time, will result in a fine.
Residents are also reminded to move vehicles off of City streets if other parking is available. A street cleared of parked vehicles allows the DPW Snow Team to plow quickly and as efficiently as possible.
