On January 14th, the Frederick Police Department conducted Alcohol Compliance Checks of restaurants selling alcohol products within the City of Frederick. This is the third round of grant funded compliance checks within the City of Frederick.
Frederick Police Officers, with the help of underage volunteers, were able to check 20 businesses for compliance with state laws prohibiting the sale of alcohol products to minors. Of the 20 businesses checked, 6 business sold alcohol to an underage volunteer. This round of compliance checks yielded a 66% compliance rate. The Frederick Police Department would like to thank the following business establishments for their compliance with state laws:

Ledo Pizza – 490 Prospect Boulevard
Gladchuck Brothers – 489 W. Patrick Street
Terrace lanes – 12 W. College Terrace
The Orchard Restaurant – 43 N. Market Street
Acacia – 129 N. Market Street
Olives Restaurant – 137 N. Market Street
Pretzel & Pizza Creations – 210 N. Market Street
The following establishments did not comply with the law and offenders were issued citations:

Viet’s Aroma – 440 Prospect Boulevard
La Paz – 51 S. Market Street
Brewer’s Alley – 124 N. Market Street
Magoo’s Pub – 1-A W. 2nd Street
This round of compliance checks was one prevention strategy of the Frederick County – Alcohol Prevention Initiative Coalition (FC-API) strategic plan to address underage drinking issues in Frederick. Other prevention strategies planned for the next several months include parent education workshops, alcohol merchant trainings, and marketing messages to parents and adults.
