The Frederick Police Department’s Street Crimes Team has charged a man who committed an overnight burglary at the AYSE Restaurant on 01/14/2015…
On 01-14-2015, at approximately 0104 hours, officers of the Frederick Police Department responded to a commercial alarm at the AYSE Restaurant, located at 6 N. East Street, in Frederick City.
Through the initial investigation, it was found the suspect threw a brick through the front door, breaking the glass. The suspect then made entry into the business and stole a bottle of liquor. This case was assigned to Investigator Paul Malatesta, of the Frederick Police Department’s Street Crimes Team, for follow-up and investigation. Through his investigation, and with the assistance of the Frederick Police Department’s Patrol Division, information was gathered and evidence from the crime scene was located and collected. It was through this information and evidence that the suspect was positively identified as, Matthew Jason Brown.
Criminal charges were applied for through the Frederick County District Court Commissioner’s Office, charging Brown with charges related to burglary and theft. A criminal summons was issued in reference to this incident. On 01-15-2015, Brown was located and served with a copy of the charges.
