Mayor Randy McClement announced today that the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) has been selected by The City of Frederick to conduct the national search for a new Police Chief.

International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Selected
Frederick, MD – December 22, 2014: Mayor Randy McClement announced today that the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) has been selected by The City of Frederick to conduct the national search for a new Police Chief. The RFP was awarded to IACP on Thursday, December 18, 2014.
“My primary goal during this search is to keep the Frederick Police Department moving in a positive direction. We have a group of dedicated men and women who serve the City proudly and I am committed to finding the best person to lead this department. In selecting IACP, I am confident our extensive search will result in the best possible candidates,” said McClement.
The Frederick Police Department’s current authorized strength is 149 sworn officers.
Captain Patrick Grossman is serving as Acting Chief of Police, a position appointed by Mayor McClement following the retirement of Chief Tom Ledwell on September 23, 2014.
