On 12/18/2014 at approximately 8:33 PM Frederick Police officers responded to the area of the McDonalds Restaurant located at 1399 W 7th Street Frederick, MD for a reported armed robbery which had just occurred.
While officers were en route to the scene a 911 caller advised police dispatchers that the suspect vehicle was fleeing the scene. The victim in this case flagged down an officer responding to the call in the area of 12th Street and Motter Avenue. The victim had located the suspect’s vehicle abandoned on W 12th Street. Officers began searching the area surrounding the vehicle for the suspects. An officer located suspects in the 1000 block of N Market Street. A handgun was located in the area the suspects were located.
Det. Forrest was assigned as the lead investigator in this case. Det. Forrest was able to determine that an armed robbery occurred inside of a vehicle in the parking lot of the McDonalds Restaurant on W 7th Street. Following the robbery the victim began following the vehicle the suspects were driving. While following the suspect’s vehicle one suspect, identified as Dominique Garrett, fired a handgun out of the vehicle at the victim’s car. A second juvenile suspect who was driving the vehicle was also charged in this case.
The vehicle, which was abandoned by the suspects, was later determined to be stolen on 12/17/2014 in Montgomery County, Maryland.
The juvenile suspect was charged as a juvenile and transported to a juvenile detention facility. The adult suspect, Garrett, was transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center for processing.
