The Frederick Police Department would like to express our appreciation to the Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office for their efforts and hard work in securing a plea agreement on Vaughn Davis who committed 3 armed robberies in the city of Frederick. Mr. Davis recently plead to and was convicted of committing the armed robberies of 7-11 (1042 W Patrick St) on 08-08-11, the Sunoco Gas Station (1200 W Patrick St) on 08-13-11, and the Rite Aid Pharmacy (1000 Key Parkway) on 08-20-11.
Mr. Davis was sentenced to 60 years in a state correctional facility with all but 36 years suspended. This conviction was the direct result of efforts by Detective Gene Alston, Detective Michael Morgan, and Officer Andrew Alcorn. The investigative efforts and attention to detail in the investigative process made an extremely strong case for presentation and ultimately resulted in a plea agreement prior to trial.
Chief Dine would like to commend these officers and Kirsten Brown of the Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office on a collaborative effort that resulted in sentencing a serial robber to a meaningful prison sentence.
