Frederick man charged with arson after setting his own car and another vehicle on fire.
On 08/16/2014 at approximately 2321 hours, Frederick Police officers responded to 1660 Bowman’s Farm Road for a vehicle fire.
This case was assigned to Detective Forrest with the Criminal Investigation Division for follow-up investigation. Detective Forrest was able to identify the suspect in this case as, Warren Joseph Richards a 30 year old male. Through the investigation it was determined Richards intentionally set fire to his vehicle and a second vehicle parked next to Richards’ vehicle. Frederick County Fire and Rescue were called to the scene and extinguished the vehicle fires.
Detective Forrest applied for a statement of charges with the District Court Commissioner’s Office. An arrest warrant was issued o 09/11/2014, charging Richards with the below listed offenses.
On 09/15/2014 at approximately 8:30 AM detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division located Richards at his residence. Richards was transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center without incident.
