[ARCHIVED] Detectives Arrest Man in Monday Morning Rape (CID)

Frederick Police Detectives have made an arrest in a rape which occurred early Monday morning...

On 08/25/2014 at approximately 4:04 AM Frederick Police Officers responded to an E fifth Street residence for a reported rape. Officers arrived on scene and located the victim in this case, an adult female.

Det. Trapp with the Criminal Investigation Division responded to the scene as the lead investigator. Det. Trapp identified the suspect in this case to be Khiree Denziel Curry, DOB 03/20/1995. Curry and the victim were known to one another prior to this assault occurring.

The investigation revealed, the victim in this case had gone to sleep inside of the residence and was awoken by the assault. After the assault residents came to the victim’s aid and Curry was forced out of the residence. Police were contacted and responded at that time.

At approximately 8:30 AM on 08/25/2014 detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division attempted to locate Curry in the 900 block of Heather Ridge Drive where he was thought to have been residing. Det. Trapp located Curry outside of a residence and Curry fled from detectives on foot. Curry was apprehended attempting to flee through a storm drain onto Ft. Detrick property after a brief foot chase. During the arrest, Curry continued to fight with detectives resisting arrest.

After the arrest of Curry, detectives were called to a residence in the 900 block of Heather Ridge Drive. The resident advised detectives that Curry had broken into the apartment sometime after the assault through a bedroom window. This resident and Curry were also known to one another prior to the burglary occurring. Curry did not have permission to enter this property.

Curry was arrested for the offenses listed below. Curry was transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center where he is awaiting an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner.

Additional details regarding this event are not being released at this time to ensure the privacy of the victim.
