Electricity in the downtown area of Frederick has been restored after a blown transformer on West 4th Street.
All power has been restored with the downtown area of Frederick due to the blown transformer. W. 4th St has also been reopened to traffic.

On 07-10-2014 at approximately 12:00 in the afternoon the downtown area of Frederick is experiencing an electric outage due to a blown transformer located on West 4th Street. Frederick Police are on scene monitoring traffic conditions and the area affected. Potomac Edison is aware of the situation and is on scene. West 4th Street will be closed until further notice.
The Frederick Police Department is asking its residents to use caution when entering the area by foot or vehicle, that is affected by this outage. Please use caution when entering intersections controlled by traffic devices, and treat these intersections as a four way stop sign. It appears at this time that the area affected is located in the downtown area. Potomac Edison has advised that this will be an extended outage as they continue to work in the area.
