Frederick, MD – Mayor Randy McClement asks residents to commit to conserving water and cutting pollution by taking the “My Water Pledge”. The pledge is part of a national contest aimed at drastically slashing water and energy use across the nation. In return, residents can win a new Toyota Prius Plug-In, water fixtures, and hundreds of other prizes! Take the pledge at www.mywaterpledge.com.

Cities win prizes for having the highest percentage of residents take the pledge and participants in the winning cities will be eligible to win additional prizes! Participants will also benefit from resources in our area that will help take the commitment of water conservation even further, including energy-efficient, cost-savings tips for your home. Mayor McClement is encouraging residents of The City of Frederick to conserve water, save energy, and reduce pollution on behalf of The City of Frederick at www.mywaterpledge.com/national throughout the month of April.

Mayor McClement said, “Water is our greatest resource. I encourage residents to join with me and take the pledge at mywaterpledge.com to help conserve and learn new ideas and approaches to conserving water and cutting pollution – and maybe win prizes in return. It’s fun, easy and a win-win all around.”

The Wyland Mayor’s Challenge for Water Conversation, runs until April 30th and is a non-profit national community service competition developed by the Wyland Foundation. The “My Water Pledge” program receives support from the National League of Cities, TORO, Water Sense, byteLaunch, WonderGrove Kids, U.S. Forest Service and Water Sense.
