A Frederick man has been arrested and charged with robbery...
On 04/10/2014 at approximately 1617 hours Frederick Police officer responded to the Kmart located at 1003 W Patrick Street for a reported armed robbery. A victim was located who was suffering from, non-life threatening, injuries as the result of an assault. This victim was later transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division arrived on scene and began investigating the incident. Det. Putman was assigned as the lead investigator and determined that the victim was assaulted by a person known to him inside of the Kmart. During the assault property belonging to the victim was stolen by the suspect. The suspect then fled the area in a vehicle which was parked in the parking lot.
Det. Putman identified the suspect in this case as Joseph Scott Bryant, DOB 04/05/1989. Information and evidence was obtained linking Bryant to the robbery which occurred inside of Kmart. Detectives located Bryant in front of his residence in the 2200 block of Wetherburne Way in Frederick Thursday evening. Bryant was taken into custody at that time without incident.
Bryant was transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center where he was being held Friday afternoon on a bail of $200,000. This investigation is still on-going and the Frederick Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Det. Putman at 301-600-4112.
